Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and ready for every single one of your potlucks and picnics. This Blaufränkisch rosé from Jiří Bárta really is sunshine in a bottle—a little bit of strawberry, a little bit of cranberry, a hint of raspberry, and nice viscosity. Bárta produces pretty small amounts, so strike while the sun is hot!
Born into an agricultural family, Jiří has always had a very strong bond with land and farming. You can take the man out of the farm, but you can't take the farm out of the man! He now farms only 0.25 hectares of vineyards—organically and mostly by hand. The vineyards are 50 years old and planted with a mix of locally typical grapes like Blaufränkisch and Grüner Veltliner.
Everything is farmed organically with very little tractor work to avoid soil compaction. No herbicides or pesticides ever; the only fertilizers are grape pomace spread in the vineyards after harvest and cow manure every 7 years. This meticulous, hands-on approach ensures healthy vines and expressive wines.
The soils in Kobylí are quite light—mostly loess and sand—ideal for making light, easy-drinking wines that express their variety. The village is part of the Modré Hory winegrowing area ("blue mountains"), renowned especially for its red wines. The wines are born in a tiny cellar under the family house, where they spontaneously ferment and slowly age in a few oak barrels.
Bright and refreshing with strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry notes. Nice viscosity adds texture while maintaining the wine's light, easy-drinking character. Perfect for warm weather and outdoor gatherings.
Ideal for picnics, BBQs, lakeside gatherings, and potlucks. Serve well chilled on sunny days. Perfect for casual drinking and outdoor entertaining.
