Burgundy-Inspired Pinot Gris from Moravian Terroir

A complex, oak-aged Pinot Gris from Czech natural wine pioneer Jaroslav Osička. Crafted with Burgundy and Jura-inspired techniques, this elegant white wine showcases the finesse and precision that have enchanted wine lovers for nearly 20 years.

The Producer

Jaroslav Osička is a Czech natural wine pioneer based in Velké Bílovice, Moravia. Working 5 hectares of estate-owned and long-term rental vineyards on diverse soils (calcareous loess, sandy-loam, marine sediments, sandstone subsoil), Jaroslav crafts stunning wines—mostly whites based on the Pinot family—that rival the elegance of Burgundy and Jura. Organic certified following Ekovín rules and the Autentista Charter, producing 20-30,000 bottles annually.

Vineyard & Winemaking

Grapes are sourced from gentle, south-east facing slopes with exceptional terroir. The wine undergoes 18 months of oak aging in Czech and Hungarian barrels, developing aromas of vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. Malolactic fermentation adds characteristics of butterscotch and cream, creating remarkable complexity and roundness.

Tasting Notes

Aromas and flavours of white peach and wet stones meet vanilla, nutmeg, and clove from oak aging. The palate is complex, round, and well-balanced with creamy texture from malolactic fermentation. A wine of finesse, precision, and longevity.

Food Pairing & Serving

Pairs superbly with roasted pork, creamy risottos, and pumpkin or squash dishes. Serve slightly chilled to appreciate the wine's complexity and texture.
