Tomáš Režný 'RedWelch Cuvée' 2021

Tomáš manages approximately 2 hectares of vineyards where he farms biodynamically (without certificate, but from 2021 officially organic certified). He is also in DEMETER CS (Czech and Slovakia). He has almost 50-year-old vineyards and gradually tries to restore them or, if there's any chance to repair them, then plant completely new ones.

Tomáš produces wines in small batches with a focus on quality. The entire annual production is aged in different wooden barrels (acacia, American oak, Czech oak, or French oak) for different lengths of time, however at least 10 months. He does not add to wine anything apart from very small amounts of sulphur before bottling.

What you get is an opulent, seductive orange wine with layers of exotic fruit, floral notes, and that distinctive oily texture that makes it genuinely compelling. The combination of Welschriesling and Roter Traminer creates a wine that's both perfumed and structured, with the skin contact adding depth and complexity.
