Darling, South Africa
We have two wines from The Horsemen project - Pale Rider and Red Rider. The Pale Rider is pure, fine and aromatic - a light style of Grenache that is more similar to a Pinot Noir.
The Horsemen takes its name from ‘The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse’. Tremayne Smith makes two whites and two reds in this range. He chooses vineyards in some of South Africa’s lesser known regions such as Darling (where this wine comes from) and Paarl. He is one of South Africa’s upcoming younger producers, who is also known for having quite striking monochromatic wine labels (they are designed by his friend who is a Tattoo Artist).
