100% Sangiovese
One of the purest Sangiovese we have ever come across. From 'Mello' vineyard in Gaiole in Chianti at 700 metres (one of the highest vineyards in the entire region). The grapes are picked late to get maximum ripeness. The wine is fermented in cement tanks with 20% whole bunches. The wine itself is pure, fine, pale in colour but with delicate and complex flavours and aromas. It really is a wine not to be missed.
Tenuta di Carleone is located in the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, near the small village of Radda. The wine is made by Englishman Sean O’Callaghan, who has been making wine in Tuscany for over 20 years. Sean is known for his ability to make pure, elegant wines that offer complexity, subtlety and balance. The vineyards are farmed with biodynamic practices.
