The famoso di Cesena is an almost-unknown grape variety that was for many years believed extinct. Two old rows of these vines were re-discovered in the early 2000s.
In the early 1900s, it was grown in our area as a table grape; its name, famoso, derived from the dialect words, sfamare, or to relieve of hunger.
Villa Venti is located between the village of Roncofreddo and Longiano in Emilia Romagna (central Italy). Since Roman times, this area was well regarded for quality wine production. Villa Venti was started in 2002 by Mauro and Davide decided to leave their jobs and devote themselves and their families to a lifestyle closer to nature. From the beginning they chose to farm organically, using only products of vegetable or mineral origin, not chemical synthesis. They have recently set out on a new path to embrace biodynamic farming that will allow them to reduce the use of copper in the vineyards.
