The 2012 Vinupetra is drinking beautifully, there is still an abudance of fruit, black cherry and blueberry which is balanced with notes of leather and smoke. The palate is support by finely grained tannin and a mineral finish. What a beautiful wine. Salvo Foti is really the reference producer for Etna, he is very much a man of the mountain…or volcano. He grew up learning about viticulture from his relatives and studied winemaking in Catania. He has advised a number of producers on their viticultural practices, including Vino di Anna. His wines are both traditional and innovative - true terroir wines!
