An assyrtiko like no other. Kept on the skins for over a week. Fermented and aged in used oak barrels, unfined, unfiltered and no added so2. This wine is deep and complex. Full bodied and full flavoured with notes of honey, spice, roasted nuts and delicate white florals. A truly exciting wine.
Domaine Ligas is a small family winery working with biodynamic and permaculture in the vineyards. They are located in the historic region of Pella, which is close to the city of Thessaloniki. The winery was established in 1985 but Thomas Ligas (the father), who is now assisted by his daughter Meli. The wines are made with low intervention, there is no filtration or fining, no use of sulphur in any part of the winemaking. They work with a number of grape varietals that are indigenous to the area.
