100% Kydonitsa
Quite different to the Kydonitsa Barrique that we also import. This wine is made in clay pots known as Amphora. The result is a complex orange wine with delicate aromatics and deep, long lasting texture and flavour on the palate.
Domaine Ligas is a small family winery working with biodynamic and permaculture in the vineyards. They are located in the historic region of Pella, which is close to the city of Thessaloniki. The winery was established in 1985 but Thomas Ligas (the father), who is now assisted by his daughter Meli. The wines are made with low intervention, there is no filtration or fining, no use of sulphur in any part of the winemaking. They work with a number of grape varietals that are indigenous to the area.
