Vollenweider Mosel Trocken Riesling 2025

This is Vollenweider's dry Riesling from the steep slate slopes of the Mosel, showcasing the precision and minerality that makes this region so special. This is Riesling with real character and tension, showing what the variety can do when it's grown on pure slate and handled with care.

Founder Daniel Vollenweider created a reputation of being one of the Mosel's most exciting producers, working with meticulous attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar. His partner Moritz took over the reigns following his passing, and his  approach is minimal intervention – letting the fruit and terroir express themselves without interference. The result is wines with purity, precision, and remarkable aging potential.

Felsenfest is dry (trocken), showing citrus, green apple, white peach, and that distinctive slate minerality that runs through all great Mosel Rieslings. There's racy acidity that keeps everything lifted and precise, with a steely backbone that gives the wine structure and length. Nothing feels heavy or overdone – this is Riesling at its most elegant and focused.

The steep slate slopes of the Mosel create ideal conditions for Riesling – excellent drainage, heat retention from the dark slate, and the moderating influence of the river. Vollenweider's meticulous vineyard work and minimal intervention in the cellar allow all of this to shine through in the glass.

Serve it well-chilled with seafood, grilled fish, poultry, Asian cuisine, or fresh cheeses. The dry style and bright acidity make it incredibly food-friendly and versatile. This is drinking beautifully now but will develop further complexity with a few years in the cellar.
